EZS Kessy CAN: key learning (Q7 / A6 / Allroad)

VAG Interface Classic Keys / Immo Medium ⏱ 20-40 min 6 steps

Used to learn keys to the EZS-Kessy on Audi Q7 / A6 / Allroad. In most cases it needs a pre-programmed key (a dealer key derived from the VIN) that can be bought from a VW / Audi dealer; alternatively you can make the dealer key yourself with the Abrites dealer key function and a PROTAG programmer.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • PROTAG
⚠ WarningKey learning only works with dealer keys: without the correct login and component security loaded into the software every attempt will fail.

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the car and open the "EZS Kessy CAN" special function.
  2. Enter the login (PIN) and the component security bytes, or load them with "Autodetect" / from the EEPROM dump / with "Get component security from EZS-Kessy by OBDII" (see the dedicated procedure).
  3. Get hold of the dealer keys: either bought from a VW / Audi dealer or made with the "Make dealer key" function and the key programmer (PROTAG).
  4. Enter the number of keys to be learned in the "Number of keys to learn" field.
  5. Press the "Learn" button: the keys are learned.
  6. If the car has no working key, remember to hold the brake pedal down to keep communication with the EZS-Kessy.
