EZS Kessy CAN: EEPROM read and write (2KB)

VAG Interface Classic Keys / Immo Advanced ⏱ 15-30 min 5 steps

Lets you read and write the EZS-Kessy's 2KB EEPROM, which holds the PIN, the component security and the synchronisation with the engine ECU. Use it when you need to work directly on the immobiliser data.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
⚠ WarningThe $100-$15F area holds the immobiliser data and writing it requires a working key. Changing some areas can stop the car recognising the key and therefore starting (in particular the component security between $100 and $123); at that point the area will no longer be writable, precisely because there is no working key.

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the car and open the "EZS Kessy CAN" special function.
  2. Enter the login (PIN) and the component security bytes, or load the EZS-Kessy dump (see the dedicated procedure).
  3. Use the read function to pull the EZS Kessy's 2KB EEPROM and always keep a copy of the original dump.
  4. For writing: the $100-$15F area can also be written, but only with a working key available. Work with the utmost care in this area.
  5. If a wrong change leaves the car unable to recognise the key and the area is no longer writable, you have two ways to get writing back: learn a completely new transponder, or unlock the original key, turn it into a dealer key and re-learn it to the car.
