BCM2: dealer key creation and key learning

VAG Interface Classic Keys / Immo Medium ⏱ 30-60 min 5 steps

The third and final step of the BCM2 procedure: once the module has been read you create the dealer keys you need and learn them to the car.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • programmatore chiavi
⚠ WarningA dealer key can be created more than once, but the moment you learn it to a car it gets locked during the key learning procedure and can no longer be used on another car. Also note that the original keys have to be re-learned at this stage, otherwise they will stop working.

Procedure

  1. First complete the BCM2 module read (over OBDII or with ABPROG).
  2. Take a brand new key: a virgin key is required to create a dealer key.
  3. Create all the dealer keys you need with the software's dealer key creation function.
  4. Once you have the required number of pre-coded dealer keys, start the learning procedure and learn them to the car.
  5. At the same stage, re-learn all the car's original keys as well, otherwise they will stop working.
