Adapting the immobiliser (Kessy) on Audi A8 and VW Touareg

VAG Interface Classic Keys / Immo Advanced ⏱ varies 6 steps

A function dedicated to adapting a second-hand immobiliser (Kessy) from one vehicle to another. Older VW Touareg/Phaeton, Porsche Cayenne and Bentley Continental are normally adapted with just the PIN and a channel 50 adaptation, whereas the A8 and post-2007 VW models require this special function.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • programmatore EEPROM
⚠ WarningYou must know the engine ECU's power class BEFORE running the function: after pressing the read button the power class has to be entered manually and the Kessy takes on whatever value you enter. If the value is wrong and the vehicle was working (ECU and immobiliser already adapted), the car will stop working and will only work again once you redo the procedure with the correct power class. Also, if you enter the CS manually as 6 bytes and a working key exists, after the read the Kessy will no longer recognise the key: to get it recognised again you have to enter the 7th byte and press "Change".

Procedure

  1. Obtain the existing PIN and CS of the second-hand immobiliser: you can extract them by reading the used module's EEPROM dump, or take them from the engine ECU of the car the module came from.
  2. Start "Immo parts adaptation" and select the immobiliser (Kessy) for Audi A8 / VW Touareg / Phaeton / Porsche Cayenne / Bentley Continental.
  3. Load the EZS-Kessy EEPROM dump or enter the second-hand module's PIN and CS manually.
  4. Press the read button and manually enter the correct power class of the engine ECU.
  5. Complete the adaptation procedure.
  6. If you entered the CS as 6 bytes and the key is no longer recognised, enter the 7th CS byte and press "Change".
