Toyota/Lexus built after mid-2025: All Keys Lost with Smart System read via RH850/V850 Programmer

On Toyota/Lexus vehicles built after mid-2025, in an all keys lost case the standard OBDII procedure is not enough: you have to remove the Smart System and read it with the RH850/V850 programmer, then load the dump into the Toyota Online software. For a spare key only, the standard procedure still applies.

Procedure

1. If you only need to add a spare key this procedure is not required: follow the standard key programming over OBDII.
2. In an all keys lost case, remove the Smart System from the vehicle.
3. Read the Smart System with the RH850/V850 programmer and save the dump to file. For the connections use the wiring diagrams available in the RH850/V850 programmer software.
4. Refit the Smart System to the vehicle and connect to it with the CB012 and CB031 cables.
5. Start the Toyota Online software and select "Key Learning". If the vehicle is not detected automatically (common on post mid-2025 cars), press "Continue".
6. When the software asks whether you want to prepare a Master Key Emulator, select "Yes".
7. When the software prompts you, load the dump file previously read from the Smart System.
8. Insert the correct emulator into the PROTAG: TA68 for Denso Smart System, TA64 for Tokai Rika Smart System.
9. Once the MASTER emulator is prepared, press the vehicle's START button with the emulator to bring the ignition to IGN ON.
10. When the software prompts you, go ahead and programme the new key by touching the vehicle's START button with the key, until the completion message appears.
