Deleting lost keys from the Toyota/Lexus vehicle memory ("Delete Keys")

Toyota/Lexus Interface New Keys / Immo Medium ⏱ 20-30 min 6 steps

Used to remove lost or stolen keys from the vehicle memory, leaving only the keys you hold learned to the car. Typically used on used vehicles or after a key has been stolen.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • CB106
⚠ WarningMake sure you have a working key for the vehicle, otherwise the procedure cannot be completed: at the end the car is left with the working key learned and all the others deleted.

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the vehicle's OBDII socket and make sure you have at least one working key in your hand.
  2. Start the Toyota Online software and select the vehicle make and model.
  3. Open the "Key Learning" special function.
  4. Select the "Delete Keys" menu.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions in the order shown, without skipping any step.
  6. At the end check that the remaining key unlocks and starts the vehicle normally, and that the deleted keys are no longer recognised.
