INV20EM01 hybrid inverter: personalising the donor WITHOUT saved data, using the EIS4 file and reprogramming with "Program"

Scenario 2 for the INV20EM01 inverter: the original unit is missing or damaged and cannot be read. The EIS4 personalisation data file is saved from the EIS, the donor is fitted, reprogrammed with a compatible software version and then personalised with the EIS4 file.

⚠ WarningIMPORTANT: before "Personalize", the donor must be reprogrammed with "Program" using software versions compatible with the vehicle; without this step the personalisation will not succeed. Keep a stable power supply throughout the reprogramming. The unit activates by itself after 100 ignition cycles.

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the vehicle OBDII socket.
  2. Open Mercedes FBS4 Manager, select "Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS)" and press "Info".
  3. Press "Save" and save the personalisation data file (EIS4 file) to the PC.
  4. Fit the donor unit in the car.
  5. Open Mercedes FBS4 Manager and select the "Hybrid/Inverter" option.
  6. Press "Info" to establish the connection.
  7. Press "Program" and reprogram the unit with the compatible software versions.
  8. Press "Personalize" and select the EIS4 file saved from the EIS.
  9. Switch the ignition OFF and back ON, check the engine starts and there are no faults; automatic activation happens after 100 ignition cycles.
