DAF key programming over OBDII (2002-2008 models, no PIN required)

Camion / Bus Interface Classic Keys / Immo Medium ⏱ 30-60 min 8 steps

Advanced function in "Abrites Diagnostics for DAF" that lets you learn keys to DAF trucks working over OBDII. Used for lost keys or for an additional key on the covered models.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
⚠ WarningKey programming over OBDII is supported on DAF models from 2002 to 2008: on vehicles outside that range the function is not covered. Chock the vehicle's wheels before starting and watch out for the voltages present on the vehicle.

Procedure

  1. Check the truck falls within coverage: key programming over OBDII is supported on DAF models from 2002 to 2008.
  2. Chock the vehicle's wheels and arrange a stable power supply: the job is done with the ignition on and must not be interrupted.
  3. Connect the AVDI to the truck's OBDII port and to the PC, then switch the ignition on.
  4. Start "Abrites Diagnostics for DAF" by clicking the DAF icon in the Abrites "Quick start" menu and wait for the software home screen.
  5. Open the key learning function among the application's advanced diagnostic functions: these models do not need a PIN code, so you do not have to recover any PIN beforehand.
  6. Follow the learning procedure offered by the software, keeping all the keys that need to work at the end of the job to hand.
  7. When the job is finished, try every key on the vehicle: ignition, cranking and immobilizer recognition.
  8. If you run into technical difficulties during the procedure, contact Abrites support at support@abrites.com.
