Replacing the ISM (Intelligent Servo Module) with the "DAS Manager"

Mercedes Interface Classic Coding / Adaptations Advanced ⏱ varies 9 steps

The Intelligent Servo Module can also be replaced through the "DAS Manager", with a procedure much like the other control modules: read, virginize, personalize and activate.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
⚠ WarningIf the password cannot be calculated the software shows an error and the ISM cannot be virginized.

Procedure

  1. In the "DAS Manager" select the "ISM" button and press read.
  2. Check the ISM's current status in the details window.
  3. If the module has to be swapped, go ahead and reset it to virgin state.
  4. Wait for the service password to be calculated: if it cannot be calculated an error message appears and you cannot continue. Once saved on the computer, the password can be reused indefinitely.
  5. Run the virginizing: it must be done in the car over the internal CAN, or out of the car on a bench rig.
  6. To personalize the ISM you must turn the key to ON or reset the module: turning the key to the ON position is the better option.
  7. Press the personalize button to personalize the module automatically.
  8. From this point on you can activate the unit with "Activate".
  9. Once activation is complete the ISM is ready for use.
