Reading the EM001 emulator's software version

Mercedes Interface Classic Diagnostics Basic ⏱ 5-10 min 4 steps

Useful for finding out which firmware version the emulator has, for example to check whether it supports W176/W246/W117 (which need version 32 or higher).

Procedure

  1. Connect the emulator properly, either on the bench or in the car.
  2. Set the toggle switches as if you were working on a W204.
  3. Open "Special Functions" > "DAS Manager" > "ESL/ELV" field.
  4. Read the value displayed: that is the emulator version, for example 0000000000000032 corresponds to version 32.
