Extracting the EZS/EIS password from a working key with PROTAG

When a working key is available, the easiest way to get the password is to read it from the key with the PROTAG programmer. The software guides the operator, prompting to move the key between the EZS ignition lock and the PROTAG. It also works with BGA type keys.

Procedure

1. Connect the ZN076 to the PC (or the ZN036 to the AVDI via the ZN030) and the PROTAG programmer to the computer.
2. Check that the laptop has an active internet connection.
3. Open the "DAS Manager" and, as the first step, perform the EZS (EIS) read.
4. At the second step select the password extraction method: the IR adapter / PROTAG option.
5. The software connects to the IR adapter and the PROTAG and re-reads the EZS (EIS).
6. Follow the on-screen prompts to the letter: the program may ask you several times to take the key out of the EZS and put it in the PROTAG, then put it back in the EZS.
7. Connect the external power supply if not already fitted and let the procedure run without interruption.
8. Keep following the steps shown on screen until it finishes.
9. When the extraction succeeds the password is displayed on screen and carried automatically into the password field on the DAS Manager main screen.
