DSM: personalisation with no saved FBS4 data, using the EIS4 file (bench only, with ABProg and ZN086)

Mercedes Interface New Keys / Immo Advanced ⏱ 1-2 hours 10 steps

When the original DSM is unavailable or completely dead and cannot be read, the personalisation data is taken from the car's EIS and written into the donor DSM set up on the bench with ABProg and ZN086.

Required licences

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • CB100/CB106 OBDII
  • ABProg ZN030
  • ZN086
⚠ WarningPersonalisation without pre-existing FBS4 data can ONLY be done on the bench with ABProg and ZN086. The car's VIN must be written into the donor DSM BEFORE running "Personalize". The unit activates automatically after 100 ignition cycles.

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the car over OBDII.
  2. Open the Mercedes FBS4 Manager software, select "Electronic Ignition Switch" (EIS) and press "Info".
  3. Press "Save" to save the personalisation data file (EIS4 file) to the PC.
  4. Set the donor DSM up on the bench with the ABProg ZN030 programmer and the ZN086 adapter.
  5. Open the Mercedes FBS4 Manager software and select "DSM".
  6. Press "Info" to establish the connection.
  7. IMPORTANT: at this point set the car's VIN on the donor DSM.
  8. Only after the VIN has been set, press "Personalize" and select the file with the EIS4 data saved from the EIS.
  9. When the job is done the software will ask you to cycle the key IGN OFF and then ON to finalise.
  10. Refit the module to the car: automatic activation happens after 100 ignition cycles.
