Delphi CRD3xxNFZ ECU personalization without the original's data, using the EIS4 file

Mercedes Interface New Keys / Immo Advanced ⏱ 45-90 min 9 steps

When the original Delphi CRD3xxNFZ ECU is not available or is too badly damaged to be read, the personalization data is taken from the vehicle's EIS (.eis4 file) and written to the donor ECU over OBDII.

Required licences

  • MN034

Hardware / cables

  • AVDI
  • CB106
⚠ WarningImportant: whenever possible always use the original unit's data to adapt the donor; this procedure is only the fallback if the original is missing or unreadable. The vehicle VIN must be written to the donor BEFORE personalization.

Procedure

  1. Connect the AVDI to the vehicle over OBDII (CB106 cable).
  2. Open the Mercedes FBS4 software, select Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) and press "Info".
  3. Press "Save" to save the EIS personalization data file (.eis4 file) to the PC.
  4. With the donor ECU fitted, open the Mercedes FBS4 software and select "ECU".
  5. Press "Info" to establish the connection with the unit.
  6. Bring the unit to "Virgin" state using the dedicated button.
  7. IMPORTANT: now write the vehicle's VIN to the donor ECU.
  8. With the VIN set, press "Personalize" and select the .eis4 file saved from the EIS module.
  9. At the end the software asks you to cycle the ignition off and on (IGN OFF/ON) to finalize the procedure. The unit activates automatically after 100 ignition cycles.
