The "Key Learning" special function adds a key to the Honda while leaving the original keys already present programmed as well. This is the procedure to use when the customer still has at least one working key and wants a spare.

⚠ WarningHonda uses two generations of immobilizer system, split at model year 2007. The procedure is similar on both generations, but the on-screen guide must be followed strictly step by step: the ignition ON and ignition OFF prompts have to be carried out in the order the software gives them.
Procedure
Connect the AVDI to the OBDII socket and start Abrites Diagnostics for Honda; let the vehicle auto-detection complete.
Open the special functions and select "Key Learning".
Start the procedure: from here on the software guides you on screen, showing each step and what comes next.
When the software shows "Turn IGN ON", turn the ignition ON and wait for the on-screen confirmation.
When the software shows "Turn IGN OFF", turn the ignition off and wait for the on-screen confirmation.
Repeat the ignition ON and OFF prompts as many times as the software asks, without skipping steps and without unplugging the AVDI.
Wait for the procedure completed successfully message: at that point the new key has been added and the original keys are still programmed to the car.
Test all the keys on the ground, the new one and the originals: start the engine with each to confirm the immobilizer recognises them.
