EVAP Pressure Sensor High

Meaning

Signal voltage from the EVAP pressure sensor is above the maximum threshold, typically over 4.9 V. This indicates a short to Vref or battery positive, or an internally failed sensor.

Common causes

  • Short to Vref or B+ in signal wire
  • Open ground circuit
  • Sensor internally shorted high
  • Damaged connector

Symptoms

  • MIL illuminated
  • EVAP monitor incomplete
  • No driveability impact

Severity

Low — impact is limited to emissions monitoring only.

What to do

  1. Measure signal voltage at sensor connector
  2. Check signal wire for short to Vref or battery positive
  3. Verify ground circuit continuity
  4. Replace sensor if wiring checks out
